Fire Regulations in England changed on 1st October 2006.
The new Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 is the current
legislation.

Yes it does, if you are:

self-employed with a business premises

a charity or voluntary organisation

a manager with a degree of control over any premises
How do the new regulations affect me?
They place certain requirements on the responsible person.
These requirements include:

Carrying out a
suitable and sufficient
fire risk assessment

The provision of firefighting and fire detection equipment
-
The provision of adequate means of escape (MoE)
-
The provision of emergency lighting
-
The production of an effective fire action plan
-
The training of all staff - fire safety awareness

The training of fire wardens
-
The maintenance and recording of all provisions
