Fire Safety Signs
To comply with the Health and Safety (Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996, safety signs need to contain a pictogram to convey the message intended, instead of relying entirely on text.
It is recommended that the call point locations and fire extinguisher locations are adequately marked, employees are trained in the use of equipment and the meaning of signs, emergency routes and exits are suitably marked with signs complying with the above legislation and kept clear.
Fire exits should be
adequately signed, with intermediate signage where necessary.
